Rann utsav is the cultural extravaganza of Gujarat. Rann Mahotsav is held exclusively in the Kutch white sand desert to celebrate the ethnic and diverse regions of Kutch. The festival is dubbed the White Desert Festival because of its association with the desert.
Rann Utsav, An initiative by Tourism of Gujarat
Rann Utsav was envisioned in the year 2006 and inaugurated by the then-Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi. Tourism of Gujarat initiated this carnival to showcase the stunning Kutch region’s rich heritage to the rest of the world. Initially, the celebration lasted for 3 days but considering the growing popularity of the event it is currently conducted for four months.

Rann Utsav, the tent city.
This carnival is hosted in the Dhordo village of Kutch province. Popularly referred to as a tent city there will be stretches of elegant and sleek tents erected specially for the occasion. The tents are self-contained and spacious. Guests can lodge in these elegantly designed tents and partake in a variety of activities. Depending on the comfort, tents are ticketed as premium, deluxe, and Rajwadi.
How to reach Rann Mahotsav?
To reach the tent city you must arrive in the city of Bhuj, Bhuj station is 104 km away and it takes not more than 2 hours to reach the destination
